Karen Heffernan, Medical Lab Assistant

Karen finished her Phlebotomy program in 1990. Upon completion, she gained employment with The Grace General Hospital. After the closure of the Grace she went to work for Eastern Health. While working at Eastern Health, Karen gained her certification with CSMLS (Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science), extensive work experience at all of Eastern Health sites including the Janeway, and Waterford. Before retiring with Eastern Health, Karen was Team Lead at the St. Clare’s site. She enjoyed having the responsibility of a team, and furthering her education when opportunity arose. Karen brings thirty three plus years experience to our facility.
